A lion’s strength is often measured by dominance and power, yet true authority rarely needs to announce itself.
In Resolute, the lion’s gaze remains calm and unwavering… not driven by fear, uncertainty, or aggression, but by quiet confidence and consideration.
His expression leaves the viewer uncertain of his intentions. Is he simply curious, or deciding whether you are worthy of his attention? The answer is left entirely to the observer.
This piece was created as a personal challenge and reflection of growth within my medium. Revisiting the lion allowed me to measure how far my smoke art techniques have evolved over time, particularly within the complexity of the mane.
Every strand demanded patience and control; thick and thin hairs moving in conflicting directions, some soft and curling, others coarse and straight. The layered interplay of light and shadow within the mane itself became a study of depth, texture, and restraint.
Like the lion, the process required determination without force. It is a reminder that true strength often lies in patience, focus, and quiet resolve.
